The remanufacture pathway absorbs the largest share of parts (42\%),
reflecting the prevalence of mid-range sustainability scores in the
catalogue. Notably, the recycle pathway achieves the steepest emissions
reduction per part (52\%), consistent with literature showing that material
recovery from high-carbon components yields outsized environmental
value~\cite{ref9}. Figure~\ref{fig:sustainability} aggregates the
sustainability impact across all three framework pillars.
Parts flow predominantly through the remanufacture pathway, which handles 42% of all components. This distribution aligns with the catalog's tendency toward moderate sustainability ratings. The recycle pathway stands out for delivering the most significant emissions reduction per component at 52%, which matches findings in existing research that demonstrate how recovering materials from carbon-intensive parts produces disproportionately large environmental benefits.
